Iona Technologies has delivered its OrbixTalk 1.2 middleware messaging solution on IBM's AIX platform.
Through its multicast approach, which reduces the need for network bandwidth, OrbixTalk on AIX gives a wider choice of platforms for enterprise developers to design and deploy highly scaling messaging applications, Iona officials said.
Designed to facilitate guaranteed one-to-many or many-to-many communication between components and applications, OrbixTalk, which includes OrbixTalk MessageStore, is already shipping on Sun Solaris, HP-UX, and Microsoft Windows NT.
