Dynamic extends over Great Plains

Dynamic extends over Great Plains

Melbourne-based integrator, Dynamic Business Consultants (DBC), has acquired the Microsoft Great Plains division of South Australian Microsoft specialist, Strategic Data Management (SDM).

DBC managing director, Terry Bolden, said the acquisition was aimed at consolidating and growing the company's presence in Adelaide.

DBC had established a presence there 11 months ago by acquiring the Great Plains unit of rival integrator, Advanced Business Consulting.

The SDM purchase will see DBC add two extra staff, along with 13 customers. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Bolden said he would be looking to target South Australia's manufacturing sector with the Great Plains application, specifically with mid-sized infrastructure service suppliers across the mining, steel and ship building industries.

Before the acquisition, DBC had installed a million Great Plain applications, he said.

Bolden predicted this figure, along with the company's overall revenue, would double in size over the next year.

SDM is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner. Its managing director, Geoff Rohrsheim, said the amicable deal was a good move because it allowed his company to narrow its focus onto its core business in Microsoft Business Solutions CRM, .NET Application Development, Enterprise Project Management, Workflow and Collaboration and Business Intelligence solutions.

Great Plains had only represented two per cent of SDM's total revenue, Rohrsheim said.

"Dynamics has been in that line of business for a number of years and they had the momentum and scale to take it on board," he said.
