Network security vendor, SonicWall, has promoted Chris Barton to regional manager following the departure of country manager, Tim Dickinson.
According to the company, Dickinson held the position for two years and left of his own accord to pursue other interests.
SonicWall changed the job title from country to regional because it felt the position catered for its wider NZ and Oceania channel.
Barton was SonicWall's local channel manager for eight months before being promoted. The company is currently looking to fill that position.
Barton said he wasn't planning to make any major changes yet, but would focus on providing partners with more training and development opportunities including technical support.
He planned to conduct more end-user promotions to drive sales, which would include product road shows and seminars for partners and customers.
Dickinson was unavailable for comment.
