Storage vendor, Quantum, is hitting the road in October with new certification training for its channel.
Set to be announced to its partners later this week, the vendor will offer the half-day sales and one-and-a-half-day pre-sales training in all major capital cities, according to country manager, Craig Tamlin.
"We've never offered anything like this before," he said. "Other vendors have done it - and have charged quite a lot for it - but we will be offering the training free."
The two programs were trialled earlier this year with IT giant Alphawest, which trained around 40 staff across the country. Tamlin estimates the vendor will be training upwards of 20 people at each Australian centre where it stops.
"We've refined the program a little since the Alphawest trial," he said.
Tamlin said it was likely that larger partners would send at least two staff to be trained, while smaller partners would probably only send one.
Quantum will stagger the training so that interested parties can take part in both sets of training, particularly sales people who also want to take the more technical pre-sales training.
