Netgear has created a channel development team as a part of plans to ramp up partner activity.
The three-man team is headed up by Robert Savellis, who previously worked with Netgear's independent retail partners. He is backed up by Hugo De Oliveira and Juin Lim, both former Datacom employees. They are tasked with maintaining contact with Netgear's resellers and acting in a product advisory role.
Country manager, Ryan Parker, said it was important that the people it brought on-board had good product and technology backgrounds.
"The team's focus is to develop the resellers," he said. "They'll advise across our whole range, targeting the home and consumer and SMB spaces, and make our services more accessible for resellers."
The channel development team is a part of a recent expansion of Netgear's partner programs. Parker said the vendor had added five people to its channel team in the past five months.
