Web security vendor, Websense, is undertaking additional channel training and marketing initiatives following the release of new product solutions.
The vendor has unveiled its real-time Web 2.0 content classification and malware protection solution, called Websense Web Security Gateway. Websense A/NZ channel manager, Daniel Crnkovich, said the new channel certification program is specifically for the Web Security Gateway and launches in mid-October.
The vendor has also recently launched a “Websense Just Reward” program on September 4. The program rewards channel sales representatives for attending new educational webcasts, engaging in training and closing deals. The programs has had over 200 sign-ups to date.
“Following our acquisition of Surfcontrol, we’re looking to get our old partners more comfortable with the go-to-market and the rebranding,” Crnkovich said. “We want our channel to be able to talk to customers at a higher level – so not just talking about providing URL blocking but security solutions.”
Websense maintains a three-tier channel program and a core of around 100 partners, Crnkovich said. “We have different certification requirements for silver, gold and platinum level partners, both in terms of technical and sales courses, but we find a lot of our national partners are very engaged with getting certified anyway,” he said.
