Microsoft has announced availability of a second beta release of JLCA (Java Language Conversion Assistant), a tool for Java developers to provide a transition to building XML Web services based on the Microsoft .Net platform.
JLCA, which is built on ArtinSoft SA's migration technology, automates the process of migrating language syntax and library calls from Java-language source code into C#, the company said. Java developers can preserve, enhance, and migrate Java language projects to the .Net platform.
A company statement said Microsoft is committed to providing a path for developers to build XML Web services in the language of their choice. JLCA will be a feature in forthcoming versions of the Visual Studio.Net development tool. Beta 2 migrates additional Java source code to C#.
