Wholesale Internet and communications provider, ispONE, has struck a deal with Telstra Wholesale to offer ADSL2+ services on Telstra’s network.

The agreement means ispONE can offer its wholesale customers the latest broadband services through Telstra’s network of more than 1400 exchanges, with reduced delivery and setup time compared to Unbundled Local Loop (ULL)-based services.

ispONE director, Zac Swindell, said his company’s 150 ISPs now had access to 63 per cent of the population through ADSL2+ services.

“By being among the first ones to have sub-wholesale agreements to license the product through to these guys, it really does give them a very competitive and value differentiator against all the other ISPs in the Australian market place,” he said.

The public announcement of the deal was only made this week, but the service has been available for some time now. It has been ispONE’s best selling product over the past two months, Swindell said.

“The big differentiator for ADSL2 that Telstra has is that it’s a spectrum shared service with a five-day installation time. Anything that is ULL-based is 14-20 days, so there is no downtime and no need to sacrifice a line or get technicians in – it’s a pain free connection process,” he said. No training was required for resellers.

“With it being a spectrum shared service the ordering process is exactly the same as current ADSL services which is why I think the take up rate has been so exceptional. There has been a huge market demand for ADSL2+ services via Telstra, there is a need and appetite out there for fast broadband in the residential space and business space,” he said.

ispONE is also seeing strong growth in its mobile broadband offerings, which Swindell anticipates will be the fastest growth area of the business over the next 12-18 months.

The company also offers an end-to-end customer relationship management, provisioning and billing system, called BOSS, which allows customers to place orders, manage accounts and billing from one point of access.

“The BOSS platform allows anyone, not just traditional ISP businesses, into that space without all the headaches. I can have a reseller up and going in 10 days with everything – billing platform, billing engine, payment gateways, ISP, mobile, broadband, everything. That is what we do different to everybody else,” Swindell said.
