Frontline Systems and HP get into managed storage

New solution formed in collaboration with HP to generate as much as a 30 per cent storage growth for Frontline

Frontline Systems, in collaboration with HP, has launched a managed service storage solution it claims will drive significant growth for the business.

Utility Ready Storage (URS) is based around HP hardware wrapped with a managed services solution, and allows businesses to pay a monthly invoice for the storage capacity used. Frontline national sales manager, Chris Ford, said the service provider was anticipating 20-30 per cent growth in its existing storage play, with the URS solution making up the bulk of that increase.

“Will every customer take it on? No, but with most customers we speak to, storage is a problem, and these customers can’t afford to keep dropping CapEx intensive boxes to deal with it,” Ford said. “The URS solution will be a good business for us, as it allows us to build services around add Frontline credit services – it’s an end-to-end solution that will provide us a good margin.”

The storage will be priced at a $GB/month of the business average allocated capacity, based on average raw usage. The single monthly bill covers hardware, software and services.

Frontline has been on a growth path in recent months, appointing three new managers in July.
