Brisbane-based NetOpt has found a second power vendor, Tekkeon, to support its Tripp Lite business.
Tekkeon’s product range covers a number of mobility solutions and product lines, from notebooks and portable DVD players to smartphones and portable routers.
NetOpt product manager, Rick Nand, said the line filled a gap in its portfolio, and, in combination with its previous Tripp Lite relationship, would allow the niche distributor to offer power solutions from consumer and SMB though to tier 1 datacentre customers.
“We had a shortage in this kind of product," Nand said. "Tekkeon’s line includes very basic products, through to industrial-grade equipment."
Tekkeon’s presence in Australia had been limited previously, he said. The strongest market opportunities would be through specialist retail outlets and online.
In a release, Tekkeon president, Jerry Yang was confident of the brand’s appeal in local conditions.
“With demand for portable power in Australia, we’re pleased to partner with a strong distributor like NetOpt to make out power solutions available,” he said.
