Seccom Global has partnered with security vendor, Astaro, in a bid to offer its managed services customers a tailored UTM package.
Seccom Global also partners with Fortinet and Palo Alto. Seccom CIO, Gavin Matthews, said Astaro will be a complementary fit, providing a solid low-to-mid range solution with different strengths to the other vendors.
“Fortinet is an engineer-intensive product, while Astaro is a good out-of-the-box, easy to configure solution, especially in the virtualisation field,” Matthews said. “Astaro offers a good trial program for customers, and as the trial period comes up we find a lot of customers getting on the phone to a partner – so we see plenty of customer demand there.”
Matthews said the ease of use for the Astaro line would mean Seccom’s expected primary roll with customers will be as level 3 support. The main area of focus for Seccom will be the virtual appliances offered by Astaro, however, it also has access to the physical appliances.
Astaro has had a strong year for partner recruitment, forming distribution partnerships with WhiteGold in August, and Softgen in February.
