Eade leaves Lenovo

Channel director quits his post due to health reasons

Lenovo’s director of channel, Callum Eade, has resigned from the role after just five months for health reasons.

According to a statement from the vendor, Eade has decided to focus on his rehabilitation and will step aside from his position effective immediately. Lenovo said it was now working on finding a replacement.

“Callum has decided to focus on his rehabilitation and in the interest of the business, has vacated his role so that we can fill this position to ensure we have coverage of his duties and responsibilities to our channel,” the statement read.

Eade joined Lenovo initially as consumer and small business director, before taking over channels in October. He previously spent 18 months as Toshiba’s Information Systems Division channel sales manager.

Eade is also a former ironman, and quit Toshiba in October 2006 after a four-year stint to focus on triathlons. He returned to the vendor in May 2007 to replace former channel boss, Angus Roberts, who passed away.

During an interview with ARN in January, Eade highlighted Lenovo’s efforts to rapidly build its channel resources, including the appointment of 12 staff to provide additional partner support and infrastructure.
