Vodafone kills-off 3-branded stores

VHA re-brands 3 stores one year after Vodafone merged with Hutchinson.

3 stores will start stocking Vodafone’s range of mobile phones and associated pre-paid and post-paid plans as part of a re-branding blitz by Vodafone Hutchinson Australia (VHA).

The first nine joint stores, officially called 3 and Vodafone stores, will be opened by July 6 with 100 more to follow by July 21.

VHA has also started to upgrade more than 120 exclusive Vodafone stores.

Vodafone merged with the 3 brand’s parent company, Hutchinson, a year ago. According to a statement, the move follows a “detailed integration of all retail point of sale and customer service systems and comprehensive store staff training”.

A VHA spokesperson would not comment on whether the Vodafone exclusive outlets will be converted to 3 and Vodafone shops in the future. The spokesperson said existing 3 customers will not be impacted by the changes.

“3 and Vodafone are simply better together for our customers,” VHA CEO, Nigel Dews, said in a statement.

The company’s 208 Vodafone-branded retail outlets were brought in-house one year ago.

VHA services over seven million customers in Australia.
