StorageCraft promotes Wyman and Giddey to VP status

The promotions recognise the amount of growth both Wyman and Giddey have achieved in the Australian market and it aims to replicate that across Asia-Pacific

Security vendor, StorageCraft, has promoted senior executives Greg Wyman and Richard Giddey to vice-president status in recognition of their success across A/NZ.

Wyman was formerly regional director and Giddey was sales director Asia-Pacific. Each becomes vice-president Asia-Pacific and will remain Sydney-based.

“The promotions recognise StorageCraft’s explosive growth in Australia and New Zealand, where we have built the customer base from about 500 three years ago, to more than 27,000,” Wyman said.

Wyman and Giddey have more than 40 years combined experience in the IT industry, many dedicated to backup, recovery and disaster recovery.

Giddey was previously with Exabyte for almost seven years, and Wyman grew through the ranks with EMC, Seagate Software, Veritas, Brocade and Symantec.

“The backup market has changed dramatically over the past five years – what used to be considered acceptable – for example, losing a day’s worth of data and taking up to three days to restore a server is now unacceptable,” Giddey said.

“Customers tell us they require almost instant availability of systems and very rapid recoverability of data and databases with minimal data loss.”
