FrontRange links GoldMine to Microsoft offering

FrontRange Solutions plans to announce on Monday its GoldMine Business Contact Manager product, a contact management system that features enhanced data integration with the Microsoft Outlook contact manager.

The integration with Outlook enables users of Business Contact Manager, the successor to GoldMine 5.5, to send, accept, decline or reschedule meetings with non-Goldmine attendees via the iCalender (iCal) standard, according to FrontRange.

The iCal meeting request function also enables GoldMine users to work more closely with global contacts and customers for more effective meeting management, FrontRange said.

FrontRange's offering provides a customer relationship management platform for companies with between 10 and 250 employees, according to the company.

Additional features in GoldMine Business Contact Manager include a new look and feel via an updated user interface with redesigned toolbar icons. Also new is one-button synchronisation to simplify synchronisation for remote users, a redesigned installation wizard, and an undocked sites installer, for easing the setup and installation process. Also, users can set automatic triggers to prompt a call request to a customer, for example.

"The real opportunity there is for companies to customise that toolbar," said Rajiv Patel, FrontRange's chief technology officer. Users can make shortcuts and create folders of best practices, and third parties can put icons into the console, Patel said.

Business Contact Manager can also be integrated with Intuit QuickBooks Pro 2002, through GoldMine Plus Accounting for QuickBooks 2002, which is sold separately.

GoldMine Business Contact Manager, priced at $US995 for a five-user pack and $1981 for 10 users, is available now. GoldMine 5.x users can upgrade to Business Contact Manager for $49.95 per user and receive free upgrades for 12 months and free electronic support, according to FrontRange.
