Woolworths extends Salmat contract until 2014

Three-year extension for provision of catalogue distribution services

Australian marketing services provider, Salmat Limited, will supply catalogue circulation services to Woolworths Limited (A/NZ) for a further three years following the extension of its contract until June 2014.

The contract covers all brands under the Woolworths umbrella.

“Our relationship with Woolworths spans over two decades and… [they] are a key strategic partner,” Salmat CEO, Grant Harrod, said.

Catalogues are a highly targeted core marketing tool used by almost all major local retailers.

Though contemporary research by the Australian Centre for Retail Studies (ACRS) showed a decline in importance for traditional media, it has delivered consistent boosts in store traffic and sales for Woolworths, Salmat said.

As growing demands for an online shopping environment emerges, Salmat is keeping up with the trend by providing multi-channel digital solutions including email, mobile and online through lasoo.com.

The company said this strategy compliments its core offerings to Woolworths.
