Updated: Webroot hires Kerr to take on local reigns

Crispin Kerr will be responsible for overseeing the company’s operations, development in the region, marketing and channel relationships across A/NZ and South-East Asia

Security services vendor, Webroot, has hired Crispin Kerr as its new managing director covering Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia.

He replaces Charles Heunemann, who has become the managing director for hosted voice provider, Natterbox.

Kerr will responsible for overseeing the company’s operations, development in the region, marketing and channel relationships.

Prior to taking up the top job, Kerr was previously enterprise sales manager and held various management positions at SurfControl.

Stepping into Kerr’s previous role is Andrew Simbaqueba, who worked as a sales specialist for Symantec’s security and compliance group.

In a statement, Kerr said Webroot was experiencing demand for its cloud-based security services from a range of industries such as retail, technology, local government and manufacturing.

“Andrew has expertise in tailoring solutions for organisations of all sizes and industries, which will be an asset as we continue to grow across Australia and New Zealand,” Kerr said.

According to Webroot senior vice-president of worldwide field operations, Don Beck, in the first three months of this calendar year, Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia recorded 73 per cent growth compared with the same period last year.
