Chip giant, Intel is set to launch a plethora of new products into the market in the second half of this year.
As part of the new line up of products, the chip giant is placing a focus on the software and services market stemming from feedback within its partner network.
It will be launching a business continuity software suite that will enable users to manage aspects of their IT environment from a single screen such as monitoring activity across various virtual machines and hard drives.
“This will help the channel differentiate and compete in more customer deals,” Intel vice-president and general manager of enterprise platforms and services division, Lisa Graff, said. “If the channel can sell services and software, they can make more revenue per sale.”
The business continuity launch comes off the back a multi-server manager Intel released in March, where users can manage 100 servers at a time with one screen.
Following up on demand to release more products within its roadmap, Intel will be releasing new server products featuring Sandy Bridge EP, in the second half of this year. It will also be tripling our roadmap with motherboards and refreshing its entire chassis line.
“We’ve refreshed everything from single, two and four socket servers and we’re coming out with new architecture,” she said. “It’s a tremendous investment to help the channel and grow server offerings.”
More products were also in line specifically catering to the SMB market, such as rack products, modular server, which is being refreshed.
Graff also highlighted opportunities for the channel in areas such as high performance computing, embedded appliances, as well as cloud computing.
“We don’t expect the entire market is moving to cloud, but there are different opportunities,” she said. “There’s a tremendous amount of network connections, mobile devices and storage and compute power required. In order to make this all happen, our view is the cloud and the datacentre need to be open, so you can mix and match components.”
