NTT Communications has purchased a 70 per cent stake in IT consulting and managed services provider, Frontline Systems.
The alliance will enable NTT to expand its range of global ICT services through integrating Frontline’s server-related technologies with the NTT Group’s network-integration, software-development and maintenance capabilities.
It will also enhance its cloud services development through using Frontline’s subsidiary Harbour MSP’s data center-related technologies.
Frontline was established in 1993 and sales for the fiscal year ending June 2011 have been forecast at $277 million.
Frontline has datacenters, warehousing and sales operations in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Singapore.
“As an organisation poised for further growth in the Australian market and beyond, Frontline views the involvement of NTT Com as an investor with tremendous excitement,” Frontline CEO, Steve Murphy, CEO said.
“The alliance will mean that Frontline is bolstered by NTT Com’s depth of knowledge and resources in networking and communications, while we continue to extend service offerings beyond our core strengths in infrastructure and managed services.”
Frontline's management is unchanged.
NTT Com senior executive vice-president, Sadao Maki, said the addition of the managed IT infrastructure professionals at Frontline Systems and its subsidiaries complements its subsidiary NTT Australia’s network business.
In July last year, NTT purchased Dimension Data for $US3.2 billion.
