Sage ERP X3 gets Gartner ERP magic quadrant nod

Solution displays constant growth and expansion and meets prerequisites

Gartner has added global ERP solution, Sage ERP X3, to its product-centric mid-market companies magic quadrant.

The magic quadrant is a research methodology that provides a graphical competitive positioning of technology providers in fast-growing markets - in this case Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) .

Sage ERP X3 satisfied prerequisites with its constant customer growth of 41 per cent over the past three years and its expansion to include 40 more countries since 2005, including A/NZ.

Sage Business Solutions managing director, Mike Lorge, said, “As a third generation ERP solution, it will lower transaction costs and allow more business processes stakeholders, whether internally or outside of the enterprise, to directly conduct their day-to-day job anywhere, anytime and from any device.”

Sage ERP X3 had to satisfy the following requirements:

The vendor must supply minimum two of three global regions – North America, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Asia-Pacific. The product must also meet a minimum of 20 per cent of new customer entities in the two geographies. The vendor must have at least 1000 customers in a product's installed base with a distribution of at least 20 per cent in both regions. Of quarterly license revenue per product submitted, 10 per cent should be from net-new customers. Also, each of the two regions must contribute at least 20 per cent of new license sales. A viable and supported offering must be presented at the time of the magic quadrant publication. The functionality provided in the application must contain the systems of records for G/L and product master; in addition to at least four of the following systems of record: order data, customer master, employee master, vendor and supplier master, purchasing, contracts, assets, pricing, cost, quality and planning. The majority of an application exists in one architecture and data model (application platform), or the vendor has a credible vision for accomplishing it.

The solution runs on various platforms and its user interface includes data visualisation, personalisation features and access to Microsoft Office tools.
