Unifies multiple sources information access from various systems for ECM Suite

Content management vendor, OpenText, recently launched the latest version of its Integration Center.

The enhanced, native connector for the OpenText ECM Suite 2010 unifies access to multiple sources of information from various systems and makes them available in the ECM Suite for applications – including business systems integration, legacy decommissioning, in-place content management and content migration.

According to IDC research vice-president for search and discovery technologies, Susan Feldman, unified information platforms are new and fast-growing segments within enterprise software.

OpenText Integration Center aims to support enterprise strategies in implementing such platforms.

Users of the solution can consolidate systems, reduce information sources and take advantage of analytics, semantic search and interactive user interfaces by focusing on both structured data in databases and content in document repositories.

OpenText's Connectivity Solutions general manager, Eugene Cherny, said, "The current economic conditions are forcing organisations to reduce the number of information sources by bringing structured and unstructured content together under the roof of a single business process and repository."

Applications for the solution include: content migration, legacy system decommissioning, data archiving and systems integration.

The company most recently released a fax server software that contains enhanced security for sending and receiving faxes from Cloud-based office systems – the RightFax 10.
