Solutions address security needs of enterprises

Network security provider, SonicWall, has announced two new solutions – the SuperMassive E10000 series and Continuous Data Protection (CDP) 6.0.

The CDP 6.0 automatically conserves and shields business-relevant data resources against loss from file, device, and location based disasters.

It enables IT administrators to pick what information they want to backup, what to omit and how the information should be retained to comply with recovery and compliance requirements.

The solution supports Linux OS, Mac OS and Microsoft applications – including SQL, Exchange and SharePoint servers, Active Directory and Small Business servers.

Its features include:

  1. A fileset backup methodology that combines agent-based data de-duplication moves with data blocks storage
  2. A streamlined recovery phase, including multiple disaster recovery options, such as offsite data backup service, site-to-site data backup and local archiving to a local NTFS formatted USB 2.0 drive
  3. Centralised user policy and control services
  4. An enterprise agent software, which allows growing companies to add client connections and expand platform and application reach

SonicWall has already engaged 20 of its partner resellers for the CDP 6.0 and the solution is available in A/NZ.

The E10000 addresses the security needs of enterprises, governments, universities and service provider deployments by securing enterprise networks, data centres and server farms.

The solution’s features include:

  1. A scalable multi-core architecture that utilises up to 96 cores of processing power
  2. Delivery of more than 40 Gbps of firewall throughput and over 30 Gbps of application control and Intrusion Prevention Service (IPS)
  3. SonicWall's Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection (RFDPI) engine for full content inspection of the stream.

It is available in A/NZ but, will officially be launched in August.

Prices will be released during the launch.

New SonicWall country manager for A/NZ, Sandeep Joshi, said, “These products are our continuous investment in technology and they go through the channel. We do not differentiate resellers for it based on their size but, rather, on their needs.”

The company has repositioned its management team in Australia with four new channel-focused appointments – based across SonicWall’s Melbourne and Sydney offices.

Further information on the appointments will be available in the coming weeks.
