Network tester, Fluke Networks, has released a fibre troubleshooter for enterprise network technicians.
The Fiber QuickMap is a solution that focuses on fibre testing and analysis.
The one-button handheld tester reduces datacentre network downtime by providing technicians with a six-second multi-mode troubleshooting tool.
It provides insight into the most common causes of failure and poor performance in datacentre fibre networks, including high-loss events such as breaks in multi-mode fibre.
Fluke Networks program manager, Wayne Allen, said, “Our customers have expressed continued need for a host of tools at both ends of the spectrum, but for day-to-day trouble they wanted something more in the middle in terms of troubleshooting capability for enterprise network technicians.”
He said a Gartner analysis showed that by 2013, more than 25 per cent of daily content seen by workers will be dominated by pictures, video or audio – which results in a requirement for more bandwidth and augments fibre usage.
