eStore Logistics has recorded business growth of 288 per cent in 2010 due to the expansion of the online retail sector in Australia and a strong demand by businesses for highly customised logistics solutions.
Company founder and CEO, Leigh Williams, put the growth down to the several factors.
He said eStore Logistics stood out from the crowd of traditional logistics companies because it served the special needs of online retailers that deal in hundreds of products, by running a flexible service dispatching a high number of small orders to customers across Australia.
“eStore Logistics a niche business, but it is one that is offering an important service that is increasingly being adopted by clients in the online retail industry,” Williams said.
The main attraction for eStore Logistics’s clients was its customised warehouse management system that helped reduce the cost of logistics services and allowed the online business to pass on the savings to its customers through lower prices, he said.
“Logistics is a major part of business, and an online retailer can’t operate without good logistics,” Williams said.
Due to the strength of its business in 2010, eStore Logistics has expanded its work force to a full-time staff of 22 people and about 10 part-time staff working on providing timely logistics services to their client base.
Williams said the company's expansion is ongoing and that there are always new roles that need to be filled both in IT and warehousing, such as an experienced operations manager and skilled system developers currently being sought.
