IaaS provider goes on partner recruitment drive and inks CA alliance

Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider, Verb DC, has changed its name to Infraserve.

Verb acquired Infraserve in March this year.

“At the core of our business, we really provide IaaS, so Infraserve positions who we are in an effective way,” Infraserve CEO, Damien Wilde, said.

The company is on a partner recruitment drive targeting ISVs, system integrators, MSPs and VARs.

“We’ve picked up about nine resellers now,” Infraserve director, Roy Pater, said. “With Apple announcing their cloud initiative, the end-customer market knows the cloud, and because of that, they’re asking resellers about the cloud, which makes resellers come back to us.”

Wilde said the company’s whole model was 100 per cent focused on the channel.

It has a four-tier partner strategy in place including Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

Bronze, Silver and Gold partners are required to have a managed services infrastructure in place, have to be in business for three years or longer, and their own service desk. Partners can expect to receive discounts based on certain levels.

Platinum partners, which are invitation-only, should have their own cloud service or could have the ability to build one. They’re required to have a NOC, service desk, dedicated cloud or managed services resources.

“We’re also building up a training program for our resellers,” Pater said. “We’re building the program out over the next six months to be more sophisticated.”

The company has also announced an alliance with CA Technologies, giving partners the chance to access tools for offering cloud services.

It is based on CA Technologies Applogic Cloud platform providing three components required to deploy cloud - Infrastructure, Platform and Software – as a Service.

“Our value proposition is that we provide our partners with flexible, agile, scalable technology and the CA Applogic Cloud offering from CA Technologies is integral to our ability to deliver this,” Wilde said.

Infraserve will provide the IaaS and supply all the necessary tools ready for use including the data centre facility. It deployed the first HP POD datacentre in Asia-Pacific.

The licensing, presales and support for the CA Technologies tools (PaaS and SaaS) will be delivered through CA distributor NewLease.

Under the alliance the companies will supply several joint go-to-market offerings that will be introduced to the market soon.
