COOL PRODUCT: Kingston to release Wi-Drive in A/NZ

Storage capabilities of iPad, iPhone and iPod touch to receive a boost through wireless streaming technology and app

Memory product manufacturer, Kingston, has launched its Wi-Drive offering in the Australian and New Zealand market.

Wi-Drive is a wireless, portable storage solution that expands the amount of documents, images, music and video files users can access from Apple devices such as the Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.

Utilising Wi-Drive’s Wi-Fi signal, users can stream movies and music, and view pictures or documents after installing the free Wi-Drive App.

“Wi-Drive is an ideal solution for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch users who feel confined by their current storage capacity,” Kingston APAC Region Flash Memory Sales Director, Nathan Su, said.

Up to three users can access the Wi-Drive’s built-in wireless signal simultaneously from a single Wi-Drive without requiring cables or an Internet connection.

In addition to weighing only 86.18 grams, the Wi-Drive is more durable and portable than traditional platter-based hard drives, and enables faster file accessibility through its flash-based memory technology.

Wi-Drive will be available in A/NZ starting from August 8.

Kingston recently collaborated with Symantec, EA, PopCap and Maxthon for its urDrive application.
