HP helps healthcare digitisation and introduces HP Collaboration Consulting Services
Technology provider, HP, is contributing to the drive for more efficient healthcare with the development of a solutions portfolio aimed at accelerating change within health organisations.
The portfolio, named HP Digital Health, is an Instant-On Enterprise built for improving the way in which patient files are managed, monitored and communicated within organisations through a flexible technology solution.
It aims to enable coordination and collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem – including hospitals, ambulatory clinics, rehabilitation centres, nursing homes and physician offices.
The portfolio includes:
- HP Digital Hospital 2.0: This updated version provides a highly integrated, pervasive, real-time information environment through technology convergence to cater for the complexity of care delivery for in-patient settings.
- HP Health Solution Centre: Allows HP and customers to collaborate and establish better industry-standard healthcare solutions and technologies within a contextually appropriate ICT environment situated in Plano, Texas.
- HP V-Health (Virtual Health Management): A system for more efficient outpatient monitoring.
The company has also extended its drive for more efficient collaboration with the introduction of HP Collaboration Consulting Services for the instant-on climate. It aims to maximise client investments in platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint 2010.
The new solution, which adds to the HP Virtual Workplace offers, streamlines resources, improves governance and reduces infrastructure sprawl. This gives organisation’s employees the ability to both retrieve and contribute information to form interactive business communities for efficiency and productivity.
HP South-Pacific technology consulting client infrastructure services practice manager, David Brennan, said, “Employees are often disconnected from the information and resources that help them best navigate their roles. HP Collaboration Consulting Services make information personal, relevant and usable and quickly connect employees to colleagues.”
The sharing opportunity provides strategy, assessment, roadmap and design services that make information and resources more accessible within organisations for employees to use. According to the company, the services help standardise and migrate data and applications from legacy systems and consolidate resources.

Kroll Ontrack recovers data from Dell EqualLogic system Information management and data recovery provider, Kroll Ontrack has expanded its proprietary technology to offer new data recovery capabilities for Dell EqualLogic SAN systems, catering for both traditional and virtualised file systems.
According to the company, the Dell EqualLogic storage solutions use disk technology, and despite replication and backup capabilities, are subject to physical failure and human error, jeopardising data within virtualised server environments.
Kroll Ontrack engineers have therefore built proprietary tools to extract all possible data from disks with bad sectors, logical errors, and other faults.
The process allows for in-lab recoveries that require only the physical disk so that functional parts of the file system can be left operational. Remote data recoveries are also possible under certain circumstances for less downtime.
Quest Software earns leader position in Gartner’s 2011 Magic Quadrant
Quest Software’s application performance monitoring solution, Foglight, has earned the company a ‘leader’ position in Gartner’s 2011 Magic Quadrant.
Quest Software is an IT management solutions provider.
Gartner is an information technology research and advisory company that offers technology-related support for clients. Foglight provides visibility across physical and virtualised environments for enhanced business productivity through monitoring and planning to enable service management in VMware ESX and Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
The system utilises one code base and modular design to integrate all five dimensions of APM: end-user experience monitoring; user-defined transaction profiling; application component discovery, modelling, and display; application component deep dive monitoring in application context; and analytics.
New analytics technology company iJento launches Built on the infrastructure of its predecessor, iJento is a new analytics technology company with an already developed portfolio of technology solutions and consulting services.
With an already established presence in the UK and Australia under the name of Site Intelligence (the predecessor company), iJento is looking to move into North America with the implementation of its Datamart solutions.
The Miscrosoft SQL Server based iJento Datamart system integrates all visitor-level data from multiple online and offline sources, storing it within a single datamart for direct client access. The solution is being extended to operate with other vendors’ web analytic solutions, moving the investment into Ominture and Google Analytics.
Other iJento offerings include Datamart for online and offline, iJento Intelligence, and iJento Consulting.
iJento chief executive, Peter Ryan, said “Crucially, iJento is doing two things. Firstly, iJento is extending the power of its technology to optimise customer behaviour data that is locked in other web analytics systems. And secondly, offering the only open platform that lets clients integrate different online and offline data sources to facilitate a single customer view.”
Insurance company Allianz has implemented the iJento’s Datamart for its Your Cover insurance products in the UK following the success of the online solutions within Allianz Insurance’s Australian operations.
Datamart was selected due to its increased ability to provide finer detail on individual visitor behaviour. Through the solution, Allianz is able to analyse customer activity thoroughly, determining conversion rates and the value of policies sold.
Allianz retail channel development manager of e-business, Gary Lucas, said, “iJento gives us the insights to understand how they’re interacting with our service and will help us continually improve how the service performs.”
Area 9’s Cloud acknowledged by VMware VMware has validated Area 9’s public Cloud service, giving it VMware vCloud Powered status.
Area 9 provides IT services, support and solutions for organisations within NT and throughout Australia.
As a member of the VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP), Area 9 uses VMware’s vSphere and vCloud Director technologies to deliver its services. Through the partnership, it allows customers to transfer information between vSphere and its own hybrid cloud service.

The service, which debuted on September 21, acts as a cost-effective solution for businesses.
