aCure builds new Perth datacentre

DC3 will be located in the Perth CBD in Western Australia.

IT service provider, aCure Technology, is building a new datacentre in Perth's CBD, Western Australia.

Dubbed aCure DC3, the datacentere will be located in the Perth CBD and is slated to be opened in August. The location was selected based on customer demand. aCure already has two datacentres operating in Perth. The service provider will be moving its entire operation to DC3.

The 5000sqm facility will be fitted out with 1000sqm of datacentre space in phase one though an expansion is on the cards.

“There is currently very limited datacentre space in the Perth city centre,” aCure datacentre sales manager, Grant Farrow, said in a statement. “Most of our datacentre clients’ offices are based within the CBD and being able to hop on a CAT city bus and be there in five minutes means they will use the facilities as a primary datacentre.”

An entire floor at DC3 will be dedicated to aCure business, head office, and operations staff. The company is also building a round-the-clock network operations centre (NOC) to monitor and manage its three datacentre facilities in Perth.

The sites are connected with dark fibre. aCure will be launching a range of new services which allows customers to take advantage of online storage and Cloud services in the three datacentres.

aCure will also expand and relocate its Acruix internationial WiFi division into DC3.

“Due to increasing demand for WiFi services both locally and for export, the relocation will facilitate and improvement of both performance and functionality,” Farrow said.

According to aCure, with the addition of DC3, the company will become the largest independent private datacentre provider in Western Australia.
