IT services provider, Unisys has expanded its managed IT support services contract for an extra two years with Queensland Department of Education, Training and Employment, which is valued at about $29.4 million.
As part of the deal, Unisys will supply IT support services for all of Queensland’s TAFE institutes, which is made up of 82 campuses across 13 institutes as well as the Australian Agricultural College.
It will be supporting about 500 servers and 21,000 desktops, and manage the local and wide area networks, provide help desk services and respond to about 74,000 support calls per year.
In addition to continuously maintaining and improving the support of the ICT environment, during the last three years Unisys has managed programs including the implementation of a Single Active Directory environment as well as the migration to Microsoft Windows 7.
Unisys has maintained a 15 year relationship with TAFE Queensland.
