Having recently joined the Microsoft Partner Network, security solutions vendor, WatchGuard Technologies, has introduced Hyper-V support to its XTMv unified threat management (UTM) platform.
The vendor also plans to add support to its XCSv content security solution in the third quarter of 2013 to instil confidence in customers which have selected a virtualised computing environment.
WatchGuard’s XTMv and XCSv appliances are built for public Cloud through managed security services provider (MSSPs) and private Clouds managed by IT departments. They provide the tools and visibility of on-premise network security solutions to any type of virtualised environment, according to the vendor.
As a result of the support, Hyper-V customers will have access to multi-layered defence, including network, email, web, and content security.
WatchGuard also allows customers to deploy on-premise hardware in combination with virtual appliances while maintaining a single, centralised management console.
