Seagate and Synnex ADD support to RFW

Seagate and Synnex have ensured the survival of a psychology program by presenting a $15,000 cheque to the Royal Far West Children's Health Scheme.

The donation will fund ADDers, a program for children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and their parents. Participating children are taught practical skills, such as coping strategies and time management, and are given access to specialists from a variety of disciplines. All costs, including travel, are met by the Royal Far West (RFW) Hospital.

"Seagate Technology and Synnex Australia's sponsorship will ensure the continuation of the ADDers program for at least another year," said Alan Godfrey, Royal Far West Hospital's CEO.

"Partly as a result of the drought in rural NSW, we are experiencing an increase in admissions and associated running costs. All of the funds received from our sponsors will go directly towards benefiting the children."

The money was donated during a VIP tour of the facilities by executives from both companies. It was followed by a lively game of touch football on Manly Beach.

"Synnex realises that the work of charities like the RFW can only continue with the wholehearted support of the wider community, including business. We're delighted to be part of the sponsorship of the ADDers program," said Frank Sheu, managing director of Synnex Australia.
