HDS moves De Luca to APAC role

Promoted to newly-created CTO role, and to join the Global OTP

IT services provider, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), has promoted Adrian De Luca to the newly-created role of Asia-Pacific (APAC) chief technology officer (CTO).

In the position, De Luca will oversee the development of overall offerings for customers across the region.

He will be responsible for increasing HDS’ understanding of customer requirements and business directions. He will work with the team to develop solutions that are aligned to customer needs based on the combination of insights on economic and technological trends.

“It is important for HDs to understand customers’ evolving needs, and tailor technology solutions to deliver their desired business results,” HDS APAC senior vice-president and general manager, Neville Vincent, said. “Adrian will play a critical role in extracting meaningful insights from the market, combining them with latest technologies to help customers innovate with information.”

As part of the appointment, De Luca will also represent HDS APAC in the new Office of Global Technology and Planning (Global OTP), launched yesterday.

Former by HDS and parent company, Hitachi, and led by HDS global product planning vice-president and chief engineer, Michael Hay, the office aims to foster the creation and delivery of social innovation technologies.

It will utilise the research and development skills of Hitachi and HDS to build solutions for the advancement of a global community. Target industries include healthcare, finance, energy, public safety, and retail.

De Luca joins HDS APAC with 20 years’ experience in IT, having previously worked in the company’s Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) business as CTO and pre-sales director.
