WatchGuard adds new Associate partner tier

Associate partners get technical support, partner portal and not-for-resale program access as well as upfront four per cent rebate with any deal registration.

Security vendor, WatchGuard Technologies, has relaunched its A/NZ channel partner program, adding a new Associate partner entry-level tier.

Associate partners will get technical support, partner portal and not-for-resale program access, an upfront four per cent rebate with any deal registration and free technical training.

Watchguard A/NZ regional director, Pat Devlin, said it had a lot of non-registered partners that were interested in selling the product and they can now try what it will be like as a WatchGuard partner without making a big upfront commitment.

“For a long time we’ve had a huge pool of resellers that didn’t want to make a big commitment until they started their WatchGuard business, so this gives us a way to reach out and give them a start,” he said.

The program also involves Professional and Expert tiers. To move up the ranks, partners are required to have sales and engineering staff trained, and to reach the top, there’s also a revenue requirement.

“The further up you get, the more resources you get from us as well,” he said.

Across A/NZ WatchGuard has just under 100 partners.

Associate partners will also have the opportunity to be part of its Elite Club incentive trip to Hawaii in February next year, if they generate minimum sales of $US10,000 from September 2 to December 27.

In addition, one sales representative from within WatchGuard’s channel partner community, will also have the chance to win a trip to Hawaii in their own right. They need to register their sales details and are allocated a certain number of entries per sale.

These points can be exchanged for WatchGuard prizes prior to the trip. The winning entry will be drawn in January.

“All WatchGuard Australian and New Zealand Partners entering the competition are measured on sales growth and performance from January through to December 2013,” he said.

Trip reward packages will be awarded to different categories of winners within both the company’s northern region, which includes ACT, NSW, Northern Territory, Queensland and New Zealand. The southern region comprises Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.

WatchGuard’s Elite 2013 Conference will be held February 13 -16 and involves seminar sessions and break-out group discussions on its product and technology roadmap, support, customer care programs and upcoming sales and marketing opportunities.
