Cyberoam achieves top global security certification

Network security provider is awarded highest evaluation assurance level for layer-8 firewall

Network security provider Cyberoam has achieved the highest level of global security certification at an International Common Criteria conference in Orlando.

Cyberoam, which secures global corporations in education, manufacturing, healthcare, finance, retail, IT sectors was awarded the highest assurance level that is recognized globally (Evaluation Assurance Level 4+) or EAL4+.

The certification was awarded for its layer-8 user-identity firewall. Common criteria is an international set of standards (ISO/IEC 15408) that provides a common framework for evaluating security features and capabilities of Information Technology (IT) security products.

Cyberoam senior vice president Abhilash Sonwane said the company had now gone a step further in strengthening its focus in enterprise and government organisations.

“This achievement reinforces our commitment to deliver our customers network security appliances that are evaluated against the industry’s highest security standards, thus meeting their evolving security needs,” he said.

“At the same time, this certification gives our channel partners greater confidence to take Cyberoam’s security offerings to more customers in enterprise and government segments.”

Cyberoam worked with certification consulting company Corsec Security, Inc. and Epoche & Espri’s accredited Common Criteria lab to complete the evaluation.

Corsec Security chief executive Matthew Appler said the certification process was a huge commitment.

“Although certification can be challenging, Cyberoam wanted to ensure their European and US commercial customers that they were receiving not only a superior product, but one that meets some of the highest security standards.”
