MapR Technologies has appointed Justin Bock as country sales manager for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).
The Californian based company specialises in Apache hadoop technology for big data deployments and views the addition of Bock as a way of extending the company’s reach into the Asia Pacific region.
MapR Technologies vice-president Asia-Pacific & Japan, Martin Darling, said, “Justin is well positioned to help drive the growth of MapR in A/NZ and we are delighted to have him join our Asia Pacific team.”
“He comes to MapR with many years of experience in the industry, a sound understanding of Big Data and an appreciation of Hadoop and the MapR point of difference.”
Speaking about the new role, Bock said, “I am thrilled to be joining MapR and am excited by the incredible opportunities I see to enable the transfer of big data into business outcomes in the region. There is definitely enormous room for the growth of big data in Australia and New Zealand in every key industry.”
Bock’s previous roles included 10 years at Logicalis as national sales director and general manager. He has also worked for telecommunications company Worldcom (now Verizon).
