Telstra and Cisco Systems have been named champions of the Asia-Pacific region (APAC) by Frost & Sullivan.
The research and business modelling company evaluated the top 12 major and emerging collaboration service providers in APAC and assessed them using its Frost Industry Quotient (Frost IQ) matrix.
The matrix also listed InterCall, Arkadin and PGi in the top “champions” level of four quadrants. The other quadrants were challengers, defenders and explorers and included BT, AT&T, Verizon and IOCOM. The system measured companies on future growth strategy and current market share.
The study showed that the top five vendors InterCall, PGi, Cisco, Arkadin and Telstra constituted almost 50 per cent of the market.
Frost & Sullivan also predicted that the collaboration services market in APAC will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 10.9 per cent over the 2012-2018 period to reach $US1.2 billion by 2018.
Frost & Sullivan Industry Manager ICT Practice Asia Pacific, Jessie Yu, said, “The consistent market growth is due to the leading market participants’ continual service innovation, matched by strong demand from developed countries and new opportunities provided by emerging markets.”
Yu also said the company expected BYOD and mobility services to be essential in driving the volume of collaboration services across enterprises in APAC.
“Vendors looking to grow their business in this area will need to improve their product offerings through incorporation of new technologies such as video and offer a flexible, scalable platform to meet the needs of their customers,” Yu said.
