While Dimension Data Australia has announced its intent to buy Oakton for $171 million at the big end of town, its training business, Dimension Data Learning Solutions (DDLS), has picked up parts of ProActive Services.
ProActive was a provider of Information Technology Infrastructure (ITIL) training and consulting for 25 years in Australia before it entered voluntary liquidation on May 6.
As part of the ProActive intellectual property sale process, DDLS has acquired the former’s ITIL courseware, simulations, assessment tools, and consulting materials.
These assets will be integrated into DDLS’s existing offerings over the coming months.
According to DDLS chief executive officer (CEO), Mal Shaw, ProActive materials will expand the company’s existing training services.
“DDLS has delivered ITIL Prince2 and business analytics training at our six facilities in Australia for many years,” he said. “We have expanded these offerings to include training in project, program and portfolio management, AgileTM, COBIT, facilitation, and other related courses.”
Shaw said DDLS is realising increased demand in ITIL which the company believes reflects the growing adoption of Cloud computing and the subsequent need for best practice frameworks to manage the transition.
