Telstra set to make Whispir global

Cloud-based social platform scheduled to be made internationally available in coming days

Telstra’s Whispir Conversation Platform is set to go global from the end of month, with the communications company aiming replicate its service delivery to Australian enterprise and government customers on an international scale.

The Whispir platform is a Cloud-based enterprise service which bundles SMS, voice, web, email, mobile data and social media networks.

Telstra invested $4 million in the Australian software vendor in December to support the Melbourne-based company’s expansion, and on the flipside, adding further capabilities to its applications play.

Telstra global enterprise and services director of marketing, portfolio, and pricing, Nathan Bell, forecasts significant growth for Whispir, which will build on its existing customer base of more than 1.6m users.

According to Whispir CEO, Jeromy Wells, Telstra’s global reach, spanning 2000 points of presence (PoPs), will be utilised to target growth across banking and finance, media, transportation, and emergency services.

Telstra has revealed that the Whispir platform will be available in “a range of packages and pricing” at its scheduled “from the end of August” international release.

More to come.
