Microsoft awards Artis 'Intelligent Systems' Gold Competency

Artis was also named Microsoft CityNext Partner of the Year 2014

Sydney-based Artis Group has won Microsoft Gold Competency for Intelligent Systems.

Artis Group chief executive, Chris Greatrex, said the company had demonstrated how it could empower businesses and help them gain a competitive advantage by connecting data from devices and sensors with the Cloud and business intelligence tools.

The company helps enterprises and SMB’s reap real value from their data and capitalise on the Internet of Things and specialises in the development of end-to-end intelligent systems, which harness the flow of data across industry devices and back-end systems.

Launched by Microsoft in 2014, the newly created Intelligent Systems competency distinguishes world-wide solution providers that have demonstrated expertise in developing or implementing intelligent systems with industry solutions offered across health, finance, retail, manufacturing in addition to public sector as part of the CityNext initiative.

Microsoft's CityNext aims to help cities use cloud services and big data to cut costs and improve services.

According to a company statement, intelligent systems are now considered essential for business growth, and it may soon be impossible for businesses to remain competitive without a strategy in place.

Artis was also named Microsoft CityNext Partner of the Year 2014 at the annual partner conference last week.

It won for its Biosecurity Information System and Field Agent Windows 8.1 App.

Designed for the NSW Department of Primary Industries, the BIS technology is easily adaptable to various city/urban government departments and is currently being targeted at overseas jurisdictions.

Artis recently acquired Tapestry Systems and undergoing rapid growth, according to a company statement.

It is expanding the Microsoft the Microsoft Dynamics ERP, Azure, Office 365, SharePoint, SQL Server BI, and Windows 8 offering to enhance the Microsoft Dynamics CRM practice.

Greatrex said the company's focus would continue to be to maintain long term client relationships.
