Fujitsu has opened a new purpose-built office in Sydney to act as its regional headquarters.

Located at 118 Talavera Road in Macquarie Park technology hub, the 9400 square metre office will house 850 of the technology vendor’s Sydney-based staff.

Fujitsu A/NZ CEO and executive director, Mike Foster, said the five floor location will improve collaboration between teams.

“This move will benefit our people, customers and the business,” he said.

The new office features wireless and collaboration technologies, “Follow Me” printing capability that allows printing from any printer in the building; and “soft phone” technology in lieu of separate telephones on desks.

Foster said the technological improvements, as well as the five star Green Star rating of the building, shows Fujitsu’s consideration for waste output and energy consumption.

“By incorporating the latest tools and ideas in our own workplace, we are also able to showcase our commitment to sustainability, a key value of our organisation,” he said.

The new office was officially opened by NSW Minister for Finance and Services, Dominic Perrottet, in the presence of Fujitsu global corporate head, Masami Fujita, and Consul General of Japan - Sydney, Masato Takaoka.

In reference to Fujitsu’s Japanese roots, a traditional Japanese Kagami-biraki sake ceremony was held to instil harmony and good fortune.
