Southern Cross Austereo has appointed Vijay Solanki to the role of Director of Digital and Innovation.

Relocating from Europe, Solanki will commence the role in May.

He is currently senior director - global digital innovation at Philips Head Office in Amsterdam and oversees the development of connected products, builds digital prototypes and works with technology teams to ensure consumer insights are at the heart of digital products and initiatives.

During his career, has has worked with Capital Radio in 1999, launched Shazam, took Castrol into digitally driven global football sponsorship and used social media to help BlackBerry build consumer success.

SCA chief executive, Rhys Holleran, said he would head up the company's progressive and dedicated digital and drive the business further in all areas of digital, including strategy, innovation, digital partnerships and data analytics.”

Solanki said he was truly excited about connecting his passion for music and entertainment with his experience in digital and ability to create consumer driven innovation.

"I’m looking forward to working with SCA’s teams to take the company’s digital leadership to the next level," he said.
