1. Key channel plays for 2015

We are all about making business life easier, so our focus is really in developing technologies for all sized businesses, and across all platforms that increase productivity and simplify workflows. We recently launched MYOB Advanced, a cloud based ERP solution, which complements our on premise technology and is designed for our mid to large businesses. So our key channel play is about understanding our audience, creating a good product that is well designed and aligning that with a strong go to market and channel program. Cloud is fast becoming the preferred choice, so it’s equally important to find a vendor that is well positioned for the cloud paradigm and is keeping up to date with the shift in business needs.

2. Key technology for 2015

We see Cloud as the key technology play for 2015 with mobile applications used to extend the solution. These mobile apps need to be simple and easy with a clean interface and a specific functionality to simplify processes.

3. Key message to the channel for 2015

We are in a very interesting time where the market is going through a generational technology change. Our view is that the market is transitioning the early adopter to early majority phase of the product life cycle where innovation is accepted by the general population, competitors are entering the market, and supply begins to outstrip demand. It’s only going to accelerate from here, so the channel really needs to understand the changing nature of business, as well as client behaviour and evolve with the market.

4. Key warning to the channel for 2015

Timing is everything in business. There is a good opportunity for the channel to move ahead of competitors and stay ahead. However they need a strong balance sheet or a supportive vendor as they transition from the current cash flow cycle of large up front license payments to the annuity model of subscriptions.
