Fujitsu has launched its dedicated Security Services practice in Australia and New Zealand.
The company said it is a single-source practice that comprises expert professional services complemented by managed security services delivered from its Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Sydney.
The Professional Services arm includes a general security advisory; penetration testing; firewall policy and configuration review; assessments of external and internal vulnerabilities; web application security; risk and audit consultancy; information security management system (ISMS) development; and ISM assessment readiness.
The Managed Security area focuses on policy, risk, security incident handling and the security aspects of the ITIL disciplines. It includes firewall, web, endpoint and email security as well as network intrusion prevention systems (IPS), security information and event management (SIEM) and multi-factor authentication.
The SOC works across all customer security domains. Fujitsu previously launched the Security Services model in the UK and Ireland, US and Japanese markets through a program known as the ‘Global Security Initiative’.
The local Oceania team members have all been responsible for delivering information security services.
The practice operates in collaboration with Fujitsu security teams around the world, sharing intelligence, methodologies and technologies such as Palmsecure/Biometrics to market.
Fujitsu chief information security officer and senior manager, Security Services A/NZ, Brendan Smith, said the practice will be a critical resource and partner for clients.
“The hyperconnected landscape that businesses operate in today can be hostile, and we help customers manage the information security risks that arise with being a part of our digital world,” he said.
“We are delivering end-to-end security services, from consulting to assurance and risk to cyber security operations in our SOC. Our focus is on the human interactions within business processes, to balance reliance on technology in any service delivery.
“Our regional team is backed by Fujitsu’s global IT and systems integration offering. If a client requires our biometrics expertise from Japan, input on defence systems from the UK, or endpoint or Cloud infrastructure, we can draw on the appropriate skillset.”
