Damballa names Greg Bunt as A/NZ sales director

Advanced threat detection company, Damballa, has appointed Greg Bunt as its new A/NZ sales director. Bunt assumes the position following a career steeped in security, including key roles within companies such as Juniper Networks and Insicon.

In this newly-created role, Bunt will be in charge of and working with customers and channel partners to better understand the need for a new approach to the detection and containment of advanced threats.

Bunt assumes the responsibilities from Damballa Asia-Pacific and Japan vice-president, Daniel Schneersohn, who used to make very regular visits to this region from his base in Hong Kong. Bunt will be working out of the company’s North Sydney office.

Schneersohn said the hire of an A/NZ sales director reflects the company’s commitment to the entire region. “Greg’s appointment will mean that organisations here will now have direct access to a forward-thinking approach to threat detection and containment,” he mentioned.

Prior to joining Damballa, Bunt served as the sales director at Insicon. He was in this role for only about a year. He also served at Juniper Networks as its A/NZ enterprise sales director between 2011 and 2013, before being promoted to the role of Asia-Pacific security sales director. He held this position for 18 months.

Bunt also was in various other roles during his more than 10-year tenure at Juniper Networks. He said he intends to use his past experience in helping the company bring its solutions to the local region.

“The constantly-shifting and evermore sophisticated advanced threat landscape requires a new approach to detecting hidden infections post-compromise, and Damballa offers security teams the opportunity to prevent becoming the next breach headline.

“I’m excited to bring these solutions to our region,” he added.
