Emerson Network Power embarks on Talent Pipeline building program
Software and hardware solutions provider, Emerson Network Power, has announced its strategy of harnessing Asia’s engineering talent to support its business growth plans in Asia with the launch of its Talent Pipeline building program.
The initiative, which gathered 37 of the brightest engineering talent from Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand in a training program, aims to support sales, enhance customer service and stimulate innovation within the company.
As part of the training program, these trainees are given the opportunity to learn from industry expert engineers and managers across the Asia-Pacific. They will be sent abroad for specialised training and will be given hands on sales and technical training.
In specific, they will be studying power, thermal and monitoring applications for engineering in classroom training sessions and will be assisting senior engineers and managers in project-based work.
The initiative focuses on two streams: the Graduate Engineer Trainee stream and the Customer Engineer Program track.
The graduate engineers will focus on solution sales and technical consultancy, and will go to Manila, Philippines and Malaysia for eight weeks to undergo training from product and solutions experts. They will also visit the Emerson Network Power Smart Solution Centre and factory in Shenzhen to train on product application and service basics.
Customer engineers will receive product trainings in the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Australia. The program has also opened doors for customer engineers in Australia, who have been commissioned to participate in the apprenticeship program of the New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland state governments alongside the Emerson training.
Emerson Network Power Asia service and project management, vice-president, Chris Mandahl, said the company has always believed in investing in human capital, and looks to the innovation and ingenuity of its people as the driving force of the company’s success.
“As the demand for our solutions in Asia grows, we are reinforcing our arsenal with young, fresh talent to continue to produce pioneering enterprise solutions while expanding our sales and service functions to better serve our customers,” he claimed.
The Graduate Engineer Program is scheduled to end in September this year, while the Customer Engineer Program is expected to end in March 2017.
