Australian tech start-up accelerator, BlueChilli, will soon open a larger Melbourne office for its expanding business. According to the company, the expansion is driven by new tech start-up growth in Melbourne.

BlueChilli will operate from its new office in Melbourne from August 1. The office will feature creative spaces including team offices, meeting rooms and 45 open plan co-working desks available on both short-term and long-term basis.

A regular program of start-up focused community events will also be hosted from the new space. BlueChilli founder and CEO, Sebastien Maslin, said the company is excited that its initial foothold in Melbourne is growing fast.

“A partnership with Melbourne’s premier co-working provider Teamsquare allows us to offer more space for our growing tech start-up community in Melbourne,” he said.

Teamsquare co-founder, Katherine Shimmins, said the new office space is reflective of the changing way businesses purchase real estate and services.

“The traditional ‘lease’ doesn’t work anymore, and businesses need to be able to scale up and down quickly, and access services in modular, flexible way,” she said.

In addition to BlueChilli’s growing community of early stage tech start-ups, other occupants will include providers of tech recruitment, public relations, social media and digital design. Maslin added that it will also boast newly installed high-speed fibre connections for great Internet connectivity.
