Dicker Data has formally announced its CloudPortal, a single destination to manage subscriptions, renewals and other commitments.
The announcement of the new offering - designed to empower partners to better manage their commitments and grow their businesses - was the highlight of the opening stop for Dicker Data’s first national roadshow event, TECHx, held in Brisbane, Queensland.
Chairman and CEO, David Dicker, said, “Our CloudPortal product provides our partners with the ability to deploy customised Cloud solutions from a wide range of vendor partners.
"We’re taking an all-inclusive approach to Cloud because partners are moving at different paces. Our strategy isn’t to dictate how a partner should deploy their solutions, but rather, is to provide them with a range of alternatives that can be utilised how they see best for their customers.”
CloudPortal delineates the offerings provided to IT resellers into five key pillars; Infrastructure, business continuity, security and compliance, applications and services.
Within each of these key pillars is a range of offerings from the vendor partners Dicker Data works with today.
The philosophy behind the pillars, according to Dicker Data, is that the company is able to provide partners with solutions regardless of where they are in their journey.
It said in a statement that its partners were in the best position to know whether to deploy on-premise, hybrid, private, trusted or public Cloud.
CloudPortal was developed around the concept of giving partners the maximum amount of choice and flexibility to deliver the solutions they believe best suit their customer’s needs.

As a complete solution distributor, Dicker Data said it provided a foundation of support comprised of solution architecture, presales, sales, deployment and implementation services which enable partners to deliver solutions from Cloud to core.
CloudPortal also introduces the ability for partners to white label. This feature enables IT resellers to have their own domain, such as http://ITResellerName.CloudPortal.net which they can put their own logo and colour scheme on.
Resellers can provide their end-users with dedicated logins to view their commitments via that partner via Dicker Data. This allowed partners to professionally present their end-users with a portal to track and manage their commitments, renewals and subscriptions. There is no additional charge for this feature.
Dicker first announced it would have a Cloud Marketplace portal, as it was called then, in March.
At the time, Dicker Data general manager of sales, Cloud and vendor alliances, Yasser Elgammal, said, “It’s the whole Cloud computing stack from Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Platform-as-a-Service and Software-as-a-Service and also providing the associated management tools."
“We will also be offering our partner community access to complementary professional services that allows them to take their customers on that journey from on-premise to the Cloud," he said.
“It is designed around reducing complexity and cost for partners and making it simple. Our unified and simplified billing is also a key feature allowing partners through a single pane of glass to manage and track all their Cloud services.
“We are giving partners a web store that they can present to end users and allowing a partner’s customers to jump on and view what Cloud services they are using.”
