NEC Australia chosen for DFAT ICT Global Support Centre services

To support 12,000 users at 160 global sites under a four-year contract

NEC Australia is to become the first point of contact for ICT services for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

The vendor has assumed responsibility for 12,000 users at 160 global sites for DFAT’s Global Support Centre Services under a four-year contract.

NEC Australia will work with DFAT to improve the government department's ICT service capabilities through the delivery of a new IT service management tool and the introduction of industry standard service delivery processes.

NEC Australia managing director, Tetsuro Akagi, said the company has a prior record of close cooperation with existing partners in federal and state governments, including the South Australian government, the Department of Defence, and the Department of Parliamentary Services.

He claimed this prior experience in steering managed ICT services for Australian government clients validated the partnership.

“In order to maintain this leading reputation, we continue our investment in advanced systems and processes. These investments build on our existing capability and experience to ensure we can deliver results,” Akagi added.
