Rob Mesaros will soon be the new South-Pacific managing director at HP Inc., an upgrade from his former role as vice-president and general manager of the company's Printing and Personal Systems (PPS) group.

The announcement follows HP's plans to separate into two new publicly traded Fortune 50 companies. HP Enterprise will comprise its enterprise technology infrastructure, software and services businesses, while HP Inc. will incorporate HP’s personal systems and printing businesses.

Mesaros made the announcement at Dicker Data’s recent TechX showcase in Melbourne.

A spokesperson for HP said while the company has begun the operational transition toward separating into two companies, HP will continue to operate as one company until November 1, 2015.

"Rob Mesaros is and remains the current vice-president and general manager for the Printing and Personal Systems Group, HP South-Pacific, until after HP separates into two new companies where Rob would be the future South-Pacific managing director for HP Inc.," he said.

The soon-to-be-promoted Mesaros has a long history at HP starting in 2006 as its South Pacific category and marketing manager. He held this role for a little over two years, focusing primarily on the company’s imaging and printing consumer technology.

He then moved up the ranks to become HP Asia-Pacific and Japan consumer segment director in 2008, a position he filled for two years, working out of the company's Singapore office.

Following that, Mesaros became HP’s Hong Kong and Macau general manager from 2010 to 2012. He was then took upon his position as vice-president and general manager of the company's PPS group.

The spokes person added that HP is currently in its financial quiet period and more information on Mesaros' appointment will be provided at a later date.
