Infosys partners with ATP to engage tennis fans

Mobility, Cloud and analytics to transform fan and player experience

Consulting and outsourcing company, Infosys, has partnered with ATP, the governing body of men’s tennis, to provide players with an app to improve their experience and give fans access to a swathe of new information on players and tournaments.

The company will leverage its experience in Cloud mobility and Big Data analytics to to create a mobile app, ATP Player Zone, which looks to improve the experience of tennis players by enabling them to register for tournaments, review travel information, connect with other players and keep up-to-date with ATP World Tour news.

Infosys will also create the ATP Scores and Stats Centre, powered by the Infosys Information Platform (IIP), an open-source data analytics platform for data visualisation and analysis.

The centre looks to provide insights and predictions for every tournament, match and point, to engage worldwide with tennis fans.

Infosys chief executive, Dr. Vishal Sikka, said, “The partnership will enable us to bring new experiences in new ways to fans worldwide and will also serve to inform many new types of consumer engagements in other walks of life.

“Fans will soon have the opportunity to get completely immersed in the action, and feel the passion and intensity in every match, and more,” he said.

ATP executive chairman and president, Chris Kermode, said the opportunities surrounding technology, statistics and data in men’s professional tennis were vast.

“We look forward to developing a number of exciting initiatives as part of the partnership,” he added.

As part of the partnership, Infosys is to become the Global Technology Services Partner and Platinum Sponsor of the ATP World Tour, as well as the season-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, for the next three years.
